TAKING THE STAGE
Actualizado: 29 jun 2022
The highlight of my week? Attending the shooting of a new episode of "Aprendemos Juntos" with Nobel Prize Laureate Rigoberta Menchú. An incredible experience and a great opportunity to watch a “queen” in action. A lesson on taking the stage to fight for a cause when it is ours, when it is connected to a purpose that deserves us.
She shared her vision of the present and the future… and more importantly, of the place that women in general and indigenous women in particular should strive to play in that future.
She talked about diversity in a very powerful, no-nonsense way, emphasizing how -in her view- disrespecting diversity is in truth a spiritual disease.
She also discussed leadership and the role of leaders in a very profound way. For her, and I totally agree, these are times for leaders to take a stand… “de pronunciarse”, as she put it. Where, why and for whom are you willing to take a stand? How can you do it in a way that gives you traction while allowing you to have fun in the process?
Thanks to the 2 "Cristinas”, Cristina Villarroya
for helping me get into the shooting and Cristina Barranco for building the bridge between us.
